The discussion focused on 9 countries in the region with existing music research centers, programs and institutions.
Each resource person (from 1 to 2 institutions) was given one hour to share the organs and practical activities of his/her institution, with examples and illustrations.
Part of the session was devoted to open discussion (questions and comments) with the other official participants and local observers.
A technical workshop on modern archival practice was conducted by Dr. Dietrich Schueller, Director of Phonogrammarchiv of the Austrian Academy of Science, as well as the digitization team of the UP Center for Ethnomusicology.
Selected observers were invited from the education and creative sectors, the mass media and other relevant groups. No more than 50 observers were allowed. The entire proceeding was fully documented.
